What We Do!
Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Quality
We have a wide range of specialties here at Pemberton Engineering Inc. They can be simplified into 3 main types of work: Residential Structural Engineering, Commercial Structural Engineering, and Structural Inspections. We work directly with owners, developers, architects and contractors, providing full structural engineering services for residential, light commercial and industrial construction as well as structural inspections or evaluations you may need. We do all of this with a clear goal in mind: QUALITY. Our plans, details, calculation packages and reports are all meticulously done to meet the high standards set by our CEO, Mark Pemberton S.E., who goes over each and every project to ensure this high level of quality that we strive for.
Don’t stress if you don’t know where to start, contact us and we would be happy to guide you through the process.
Commercial:
As businesses and industries expand, develop, and change use, the building infrastructure often requires structural upgrade, retrofit and/or expansion. Whether you are changing from retail to restaurant or upgrading industrial floor capacities, we are prepared to assist you in developing efficient solutions to your engineering needs. Working directly with facility owners, architects and contractors, we ensure proper designs for your specific applications. Below listed are just a few of the things we specialize in:
• Mechanical Equipment Anchorage • Seismic Retrofit • Tenant Improvements • Public Buildings • Religious Structures • Dental Offices • Seismic Anchorage |
• Manufacturing Facilities • Restaurants • Mixed-Use Buildings • Wineries • Retail Shops • Agricultural Facilities |
Residential:
Today’s residential designs are becoming increasingly complex with custom requirements such as open-living spaces, overhanging balconies, and complex roof lines. Historic typical construction methodology does not necessarily apply to these new designs. Our team works closely with homeowners, architects, and contractors to achieve the desired architectural features and space requirements while also assuring proper structural performance and adhering to the California Building Code (CBC), California Existing Building Code (CEBC), or the California Historic Building Code (CHBC). Below listed are just a few of the things we specialize in:
• Additions • Custom Homes • Trellises • Apartment Complexes • Affordable Housing • Senior Living Facilities |
• Remodels • Fire Damage Rebuilds • Retaining Walls • Multi-Family Homes • Emergency Housing Shelters • Foundation Systems |
Inspections:
Inspections are a big part of what we do here and for good reason. Our inspections are a great place to start to get a better idea of the current state of your structure. There is no one better to give you an accurate evaluation than our CEO, Mark Pemberton. A state certified S.E. with over 27 years of experience and hundreds of inspections in the Davis area alone, it is safe to say that he is an expert when it comes to foundations and framing. Along with assessing the current state of your structure we have several EIT’s that can assess the structural feasibility of any future improvements you would like to make. We are also certified in the surrounding cities to perform special inspection of shear wall nailing and post-installed anchorage. The following is a list of the inspection services we currently provide:
• Foundation Investigation • Framing Investigation • Feasibility Studies • Seismic Evaluations • Historic Building Code Analysis |
• Special Inspection • Shear Wall Nailing • Post-Installed Anchors • Fire Damage Investigation • Structural Code Compliance |
